Beginning in February, Every Friday at The Memphis Center for Mindful Living at Perkins and Poplar, an informal group meets for meditation 12:00 – 12:30. Chairs, cushions and blankets provided. No sitting on the floor is necessary. No experience is necessary.
Come practice being still and non-reactive to life’s ever increasing demand for our attention. What you practice, strengthens! Skills you will learn:
- How to choose “mindfully” what is best for you to notice in your daily life
- How to “respond with assurance” to stressors instead of just “reacting”
- Easy-to-do, practical ways to incorporate mindfulness into each day
Registration is not required – just come and be present with our friendly group! The class is free but there is a suggested Love Donation of $10/person – cash or Venmo @Karla-Ingram-3
RESTORATIVE YOGA (coming in Feb 2026)
Stress and trauma experienced in the body makes “samscaras” or memories that build negative layers of discomfort in the body. Yoga has proven results for coping with daily stress. Come try our Restorative Yoga where we take simple yoga poses and use props to make them easier on the body. We will then hold the poses a little longer to give time for the beneficial effects to really sink in. Each class will end with a short guided meditation. You will leave REFRESHED and RESTORED ready to face your week!
Date/Time/Location: Tuesdays 11:30-12:30, Memphis Center for Mindful Living, 4646 Poplar, Suite 435.
Cost: $15 per CLASS – no prior registration necessary – ( Venmo @Karla-Ingram-3 )
Supplies Needed:
- Comfortable clothing that allows easy movement
- Your own personal yoga mat if that is your preference (mats available onsite)
