3 Breaths vs. The 7 Things

Speed of Soul Thought and Question – When I most want to rush…it’s time to slow down.

When I say it’s time to slow down, I am not saying that I stop, give up my work or become complacent. It means that when I most want to rush and multitask my way through the day, my actions become less focused and filled with a lot of anxiety based energy. We live in a culture that praises acceleration and living width rather than depth. But depth is where my most true and faithful actions are grounded. I can do seven things at once and never really live into any of them, or I can breathe into this one true thing, and then breathe into the next true thing. When I feel there is not enough time is when I most need to remember how time slows down in moments of presence, awe and wonder. When I am present to the one true thing contained in this moment, time deepens… and then it expands.
