What’s the Hardest Part of Yoga?

What’s the hardest part of yoga?

The hard part is beginning, that is the most difficult part of any endeavor.  They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with that first step.  Getting yourself to that class, making time in your task-filled day, can make it seem like Yoga is just another task.  But it’s so much more than that!  It’s hard to get to class but then it’s also that simple, just WALK INTO A CLASS.

It’s that Hard.  And, it’s that Simple.

The world is so very complicated right now.  There is too much information and not enough information at the same time.  So much noise, so many influences and influencers.  Conspiracies and Truth battle each other every day.

Yoga can bring you back the present, the gift of the simple here and now and you.  Not out there and not them.  As you start a class with that first OMmmmmm the gentle vibration brings you home to yourself.  That first triangle pose feels solid in your legs and as you expand your heart center, reaching your arms wide you bring space for breath.  Space for a pause before a “reaction.”  Space for a pause to be mindful and choose what “action” is needed.  Space for peace.  A simple space.  Then we can bring that simplicity to our thoughts and let that peace reverberate right out into the space where our lives unfold each day.

Clean and simple, basic and stable.  What’s hard about that?
